### Introduction :
=================
Welcome to Suvadi - your friendly Tamil Editor. It is simple, fast and easy to use Tamil editor. It is fully TSCII compliant. TSCII stands for Tamil Standard Code for Information Interchange. For more information on TSCII, please visit TSCII Home Page at www.tamil.net/tscii. Also visit the Tamil Electronic Library at www.geocities.com/Athens/5180 maintained by Dr.Kalyanasundaram for excellent information on Tamil on the internet.

### Important Note :
====================
If you don't have any TSCII fonts installed on your PC, you would have got a warning message, when you started this program. If so, you won't be able to use the Tamil features of this editor. If you want to use this as a Tamil editor, then you must install atleast one TSCII font. The Mylai98 TSCII font is enclosed in the same zip file. Install the font using Start -> Settings -> Control Palnel -> Fonts. If you want more TSCII fonts, they are availble at the web site "www.tamil.net/tscii " or at the Tamil Electronic Library web site.

### Features :
==============
* You can open as many files as you want at any time.

* Change between open files by clicking on their tabs.

* You can drag and move texts using your mouse.

* Only one instance runs at any time. So it's easy to manage.

* Multiple files drag and drop facility. You can grab many files and drop them Suvadi Icon or Window. Suvadi opens them all in separate tabs.

* Options to put Suvadi short cuts on Windows Desktop and StartMenu, so that you can start Suvadi easily.

* Option to include Suvadi in the 'sendto' Menu. If this is enabled, from explorer, you can right click any file and send it to Suvadi. That file is opened in Suvadi immediately.

* Fast and Easy switching between and Tamil and English Modes. Click on the '' button or 'Ctrl + T'.

* You can input Tamil using three methods - Anjal Keyboard, Mylai Keyborad and Tamil Typwriter Keyboard. ( A fourth method is available too, where you don't need to use the keys, only the mouse. To try goto Tools -> Ascii map ).

* You can store your preference for font, background color, foreground color, etc. Suvadi stores them in the Registry and retrives them for you automatically.

* Your preferred Tamil keyboard mode is automatically stored.

* On the fly conversion from Mylai and Anjal formats to TSCII. Just select the text, rightclick and select the converion menu. That's all.

* The last 5 recently opened files are available in the File Menu.

* Suvadi checks whether you have installed any TSCII fonts in your system and sets the font to the first avaialble TSCII font. You can change this default font any time by selecting Tools -> Preferences.

* There is a View Ascii map options, which shows all the characters in the seleted font. You can doubleclick any character to pass it to the edit box. Then you can copy the editbox contents to the clipboard which you can paste it on your file. This is an easy way to input characters that you can not find through the keyboard.

I am planning to add more features based on your feedback and suggestions. Please check at my web site (www.geocities.com/Tolkyo/Gulf/8000) for the latest version of this software.

### Keyboard input for Tamil :
==============================

Tamil characters can be keyed in using
(i) Tamil Typewrite mode ( for professtional typists who got used to Tamil typewriter )

(ii) Anjal Keyboard mode ( for people who has not seen the Tamil typewriter. This method uses the corresponding phonetic keys, so this is easy to learn )

(iii) Mylai Keyboard : This mode is based on the Mylai input scheme, developed by Dr.Kalyanasundaram.

How to switch between English and Tamil Keyboard modes:
1) Through Menu :- Keyboard -> Set Tamil Keyboard Mode ON/OFF
2) Through the ''button on the toolbar.
3) Press 'Ctrl' and 't' together in the keyboard.
All the above three options toggle between Tamil and English keyborad modes.

Using Tamil Typewriter mode / Mylai Keyboard mode:
The keyboard layout is given under the Tools -> View Tamil Keyboard menu.

### Using Anjal Keyboard mode :
===============================
Use the phonectic conversion.
 - a				 - k or g
